Prayer to St. Thérèse

Back Top Home Next Song

For Father Maurice Charbonneau and all Priests

Hear 'Prayer To St. Thérèse' (MP3)

Chorus
Dear St. Thérèse, will you please let fall a rose.
A petal of the flower that you shower upon those,
who try to find the 'Little Way', and take the path you chose.
And if we stray along the Way, please send another rose.

Verse 1
You gave up your will to God and lived without a sin.
Then God showed where He had trod, so you could follow Him.
Then He helped to guide your pen through 'Story of a Soul'.
Help us choose your 'Little Way', help to save our soul.

Repeat Chorus
Dear St. Thérèse, will you please let fall a rose.
A petal of the flower that you shower upon those,
who try to find the 'Little Way', and take the path you chose.
And if we stray along the Way, please send another rose.

Verse 2
You gave heart and soul and will to love the Holy Face,
And said you'd spend your heaven helping all the human race.
You have kept your promise, and you listen as we say:
Sister Thérèse, Little Flow'r, pray for us today

Repeat Chorus
Dear St. Thérèse, will you please let fall a rose.
A petal of the flower that you shower upon those,
who try to find the 'Little Way', and take the path you chose.
And if we stray along the Way, please send another rose.

Verse 3
In the Carmel of Lisieux you suffered through poor health.
And in the storm of darkness you rejected Satan's stealth.
And like the Infant Jesus, who saw you in your need,
You will help as He did, O Thérèse we plead.

Repeat Chorus
Dear St. Thérèse, will you please let fall a rose.
A petal of the flower that you shower upon those,
who try to find the 'Little Way', and take the path you chose.
And if we stray along the Way, please send another rose.

End (same as last 2 lines of chorus)
Help us find the 'Little Way', and take the path you chose, (pause)
If we stray along the Way, please send another rose.

Eucharistic Prayer For Mass Of Reconciliation 1

Hear 'The Preface' (MP3)

The priest begins the eucharistic prayer. With hands extended he sings or says:
Father, all-powerful and ever-living God, we do well always and everywhere to give you thanks and praise. You never cease to call us to a new and more abundant life. God of love and mercy, you are always ready to forgive; we are sinners, and you invite us to trust in your mercy. Time and time again we broke you covenant, but you did not abandon us. Instead, through your Son, Jesus our Lord, you bound yourself even more closely to the human family by a bond that can never be broken. Now is the time for your people to turn back to you and be renewed in Christ your Son, a time of grace and reconciliation. You invite us to serve the family of mankind by opening our hearts to the fullness of your Holy Spirit. In wonder and gratitude, we join our voices with the choirs of heaven to proclaim the power of your love and to sing of our salvation in Christ.

PRINCIPAL CELEBRANT

The priest, with hands extended, says:
Father, from the beginning of time you have always done what is good for man so that we may be holy as you are holy.

All CONCELEBRANTS

He joins his hands and, holding them outstretched over the offerings, says:
Look with kindness on your people gathered here before you: send forth the power of your Spirit so that these gifts may become for us…

He joins his hands and, making the sign of the cross once over both bread and chalice, says:
the body and blood of your beloved Son, Jesus the Christ, in whom we have become your sons and daughters.

All CONCELEBRANTS

With hands joined, he continues:
When we were lost and could not find the way to you, you loved us more than ever: Jesus, your Son, innocent and without sin, gave himself into our hands and was nailed to a cross. Yet before he stretched out his arms between heaven and earth in the everlasting sign of your covenant, he desired to celebrate the Paschal feast in the company of his disciples.

While they were at supper he took bread and gave you thanks and praise. He broke the bread, gave it to his disciples, and said:

He bows slightly.
Take this, all of you, and eat it:
This is my body which will be given up for you.

He shows the consecrated host to the people, places it on the paten, and genuflects in adoration. Then he continues:
At the end of the meal, knowing that he was to reconcile all things in himself by the blood of his cross, …

He takes the chalice and, raising it a little above the altar, continues:
he took the cup, filled with wine. Again he gave you thanks, handed the cup to his friends, and said:

He bows slightly.
Take this, all of you, and drink from it:
This is the cup of my blood,
The blood of the new and everlasting covenant.
It will be shed for you and for all
So that sins may be forgiven.
Do this in memory of me.

He shows the chalice to the people, places it on the corporal, and genuflects in adoration.

Verse 1
I've denied like Peter, I've often turned my eyes away.
I've had doubts like Thomas, needed proof before I would sway.
I was in the garden, sleeping while you went to pray.

Chorus
Oh my Lord, please forgive me.
Oh my Lord, please forgive me.

Verse 2
I've accused like Judas, and I've thrown the silver away.
Washed my hands like Pilate, condemned the Lamb and let the thief get away.
At the crucifixion, I cast lots to win the robe.

Repeat Chorus
Oh my Lord, please forgive me.
Oh my Lord, please forgive me.

Verse 3
Like the jealous Herod, I trampled on the innocent ones.
And like the greedy Pharoah, wouldn't free the people to go.
I have seen the poor ones, and left them in the streets alone.

Repeat Chorus
Oh my Lord, please forgive me.
Oh my Lord, please forgive me.

Oh my Lord, please comfort me.
